Your irrigation system, toilets, washing machine, or dishwasher might be wasting water and money. Savage residents can get a water‑bill credit for replacing old devices with approved water‑efficient models purchased between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2028, or until funding runs out. This program is funded by the Metropolitan Council and the Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment.

Eligible expenses

Property owners connected to the City of Savage water system can apply. The rebate covers only your out‑of‑pocket cost before taxes. Devices must be US EPA WaterSense labeled or ENERGY STAR rated. New construction and new developments do not qualify. Irrigation items must connect to an existing irrigation system.

Residential rebates

• Toilets: Up to 50% of the pre‑tax cost, max $100 (WaterSense).
• Irrigation audits: Up to $100 (must be completed by a WaterSense‑certified irrigation professional).
• Irrigation controllers: Up to 90% of the pre‑tax cost, max $200 (WaterSense). Audit guidance recommended.
• Irrigation spray sprinkler bodies: Up to $200 (WaterSense). Audit guidance recommended.
• Clothes washers: Up to $200 (ENERGY STAR).
• Dishwashers: Up to $200 (ENERGY STAR).

Commercial rebates

• Irrigation audits: Up to $400.
• Irrigation controllers: Up to $1,000 per customer (WaterSense). Audit guidance recommended.
• Irrigation spray sprinkler bodies: Up to $1,500 per customer (WaterSense). Audit guidance recommended.

Low‑income assistance

Residents enrolled in the Scott County Financial Assistance Program can receive fixed credits:

• Toilets: $550
• Clothes washers: $1,200
• Dishwashers: $1,200
• Showerheads: $100
• Faucets and accessories: $100

How to apply

• You must be connected to the City’s water system.
• Purchase and install eligible devices between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2028, or before funds run out.
• Complete the online water rebate application.
• Include a photo or scan of your receipt.
• Include a photo showing the installed device.
• New construction, new developments, and new irrigation systems do not qualify.
