Death investigation of an infant

The Savage Police Department and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are jointly investigating the death of an infant that occurred on Monday, September 22, at Rocking Horse Ranch Childcare facility.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE: As a precautionary measure, families with children who attend this childcare facility should closely monitor their children and seek immediate medical attention if they exhibit altered mental status, unusual behavioral changes, or other concerning symptoms.

The infant was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. The child's identity will be released after the preliminary autopsy is completed and family notifications are finalized.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. The Savage Police Department will provide updates when additional information becomes available for public release.
