Post Date:08/20/2025 8:54 AMThe Savage City Council has approved Comcast's franchise request to bring cable and high-speed internet service to the City. This expansion is part of Comcast's broader network project, which spans Savage, Prior Lake, Victoria, and Waconia, and is expected to begin rollout as early as 3Q 2026. Comcast currently operates 15 service centers throughout the Twin Cities metro and plans to open a new retail location in Burnsville. The space would offer customer support, equipment exchanges and upgrades, bill payment, and other services. Several companies are installing underground fiber optic cable in Savage. Each company must secure city right-of-way permits before beginning installation work in public areas and easements. Important note: The City of Savage is not conducting this work.
